I read the news today oh boy
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well I just had to laugh
I saw the photograph
He blew his mind out in a car
He didn't notice that the lights had changed
A crowd of people stood and stared
They'd seen his face before
Nobody was really sure
If he was from the House of Lords
I saw a film today oh boy
The English Army had just won the war
A crowd of people turned away
But I just had to look
Having read the book
I'd love to turn you on

Woke up, fell out of bed
Dragged a comb across my head
Found my way downstairs and drank a cup
And looking up I noticed I was late
Found my coat and grabbed my hat
Made the bus in seconds flat
Found my way upstairs and had a smoke
And somebody spoke and I went into a dream

I read the news today oh boy
Four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire
And though the holes were rather small
They had to count them all
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall
I'd love to turn you on

Welcome to the Philly's Complete OLDIES Music Homepage. The old webpage at one time featured just MIDI files only along with the name of the song and photo of the performing artists. Now, my webpage will include 30-second MP3 sound bytes, which can be used as functioning ringtones, full lyrics with album art which in almost every case has been cleaned and adjusted where needed for the highest quality. Most of the JPG's are either 350x350 or 400x400 in size so they are not too small and just perfect to view on your playing device. Every song has full song TAGs with all the vital info including, song name, artist, year, genre, song composer, album name or single (this depends) and other important info where necessary. MIDI files will be added where available in the future. There are over 2500 songs from the 1950s through to the 1970s on this site, but not every song in the world is here, only the best and most popular, but still close to 3,000 is more than enough songs for you to listen to and would take you 2 months or so to hear every single song in its entirety. My site is also linked to my Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Rush and Yes websites where those groups songs are located. This site has lyrics of every song included here along with when the song was first released in the United States, I hope you will enjoy and maybe help make a donation to help keep this site running for a very long time or at least consider a MP3 purchase or more. I also have full Oldies CD's whcih can be purchased by clicking on the bottom banner.
